About Wild West Log Homes
Wild West Log Homes is a British Columbia based company that specializes in housing components for the Log Home, Timber Frame and Specialty Home industries. WWLH produces dimensional timbers, log home and half log siding, value-added products, Tongue and Groove boards, hand scribed and machined house logs.
WWLH product line is competitively priced and is available in a variety of wood species so that customers have the flexibility to customize our products to their individual tastes.
WWLH produces various profiled pine, spruce, and Douglas Fir house log components and associated log wood products. Manufacturing services are designed to support components sales and are not intended to be a major portion of the companies business. Manufacturing services include machined and custom notching services, hand hewing, and cut to length and stacking services.
Wild West Log Homes works with their clients to develop the best options for the type, style, and cost of custom home, which meets the client's needs. WWLH uses an a-la-carte system for pricing to assist clients in deciding, which is the best option.
Whether we are providing one of our Builders, helping you find a Builder in your area, or assisting you to construct our own Log Structure, when you purchase either a kit or a prestacked building from us, there won't be any surprises. All our contracts include an exact price for materials and labour and include detailed descriptions of all components. Our base log home kit includes everything you need to create a weather tight structure including windows, roofing, special caulking -- and even nails.
We make building easy. At the outset, we provide detailed construction drawings showing comprehensive exterior elevations. We then put the materials together in the most common-sense way so that they can be re-assembled easily. We pre-assemble every log kit and number each log. When we pack logs, we do so in reverse order so the first log taken off the truck is the first one in the building series. Once you have decided on the type and style of custom home you want to build, you need to complete your house plans. Before WWLH can help you with your project, we need have a set of your plans to work from. You can either hire a local architect or we can refer you to architects and designers we use such as R.C.M. Cad Design Drafting Ltd.
Once your final house plans completed a project cost estimate using our a-la-carte detail pricing system. Cost is usually the primary concern for clients, thus providing clients with cost management options is essential to ensuring a successful and on budget project.
The three leading factors, which greatly affect the overall price of a project, are:

- Intensity of manufacturing - the number of custom notches and the amount of specialty manufacturing used on the project, and
